Web Conferencing... Better Than Being There?

Businesses are spending increasing amounts of time and money on travel - not to mention the wear and tear on their “road warriors.” Every day at the gas pump we’re reminded of the added expense, not to mention the time that traveling by car or plane adds to our business day.

There’s a sensible alternative to business travel that saves time and money -- feature-rich web and voice conferencing services that make use of Internet technology. It’s simple to get started and no reservations are required. You pay only for what you actually use. Plus, you enjoy these benefits…

  • Replicate the interaction of in-person meetings.

  • Share files and collaborate -- in addition to slide presentations and web tours, any desktop application’s files can be shared and changed by participants in real time.

  • Instant messaging -- engage in voice and text-based Q&A, and respond to instant polls during the meeting.

  • Track attendees, measure audience interaction, and review results with post-event management tools.

Think about it… save on expensive airfare, hotels, meals, car rentals, parking… free up staff resources from travel planning… do away with jet lag!

Consider 6 team members taking an overnight business trip vs. using web conferencing:

Air Fare $ 2,100
Hotel $ 750
Meals $ 300
Lost Travel Time 30 Hours
90 minute web/audio conference $ 210

Conferencing solutions from Universal Telecommunications reduce your T&E expenses while increasing productivity and communication. In fact, one of our customers started using Web conferencing for their weekly meeting with all of their state managers and saved a lot of money with no loss of communication!

Let Universal Telecommunications help you bridge the distance between your customers, suppliers, vendors, or employees -- across town, nationally or globally. Contact us at (888) 300-6600 or email us at info@universal-tel.com.

Link multiple offices with BellSouth Metro Ethernet Service

If your business has multiple locations tied together with private lines for data requirements, you may be able to take advantage of a higher performance, cost-saving alternative from BellSouth called Metro Ethernet Service.

Getting you beyond expensive DS3s, this service runs over fiber connected to your buildings, providing Ethernet connectivity from 10Mbps to 1000Mbps (GigE). We can help you determine if your building can access this high speed service.

Many vertical markets are already adopting Metro Ethernet... ISPs, Healthcare, Medical Imaging, Education and Government. This service is ideal for a variety of applications, including:

  • Information sharing and messaging

  • Image transfers

  • Database backups and file archiving

  • Voice over IP and video

BellSouth also offers a Premium version of Ethernet in many of its metro areas which allows aggregation of multiple Metro Ethernet ports at a designated Hub port while keeping each node from seeing the other. Premium also allows Bursting. Example: An ISP with a 100 Mb port can aggregate multiple 10 Mb ports with unique VLAN tags which allow the ISP to keep each customer from seeing the other subscriber's traffic. Some of the other features available with Premium Service include…

  • Guaranteed Bandwidth minimums

  • VLAN stacking support

  • Service Level Agreements

  • Customer Network Monitoring System

Ethernet services are easy to budget, entailing one flat fee. There’s no equipment to purchase. And as your business grows, new LANs can be added and linked to the Metro Ethernet network.

If you like the idea of a simple migration to higher performance and value, contact us at (888) 300-6600 or email us at info@universal-tel.com.

Falling T1 costs and better than ever rates make Dedicated Long Distance an excellent way to reduce costs and improve your traffic flow...

"Dedicated" Long Distance service has always made sense for businesses that had high-volumes of long distance traffic… but this service is worth a second look for every business today.

By connecting your phone system directly to your long distance company you achieve maximum network efficiency and the rates are better than ever. When you set up a dedicated long distance connection you pay for both the digital T1 connection and the per minute rate of your call, but consider this...

Today a digital T1 connection costs $200 to $300 a month and will provide your business 24 call paths between your business and the public network. Imagine $10 (give or take) a month for a line/trunk!  Some customer use their Dedicated Long Distance arrangement for some of there local calls rather than paying top dollar for local trunks! Dedicated Long Distance is available nationwide and offers the least expensive Domestic & International Rates available (less expensive than Switched long distance).

Aside from reducing the cost, Dedicated T1s also provide detailed billing information and account codes which helps with your accounting needs. Universal Telecommunications also offers you the ability to choose 2 carriers on separate dedicated T1s so you can have carrier and line redundancy.  Even better, we set it up so you'll enjoy the same low rate for both carriers on one consolidated bill.

For call centers or businesses that rely on Toll Free 800 service, Dedicated T1s can be set up exclusively for inbound 800 calls. Toll free calls provide detailed caller information that can be used by your telephone system to automatically route the calls to different call center groups or equipment.

If you want crystal-clear digital call quality, you'll appreciate Dedicated Long Distance. Give us a call so we can do a free analysis of your long distance options. Contact us at (888) 300-6600 or email us at info@universal-tel.com.
