Palm Beach
Vacation
Resort Shaves Off
45% From Annual Telecom Bill
Getting a handle on telecom
costs is no easy task. It often requires engaging an experienced outside firm
to hunt for savings in a mound of invoices -- a firm that knows the latest
service offerings and the best providers.
This was the situation when a popular Palm Beach resort invited
Universal Telecommunications to take a look at all of their existing voice and
data services and recommend changes. The outcome was dramatic -- 45% savings
on telecom bills and better call handling.
The resort was willing to invest in upgraded technology; from an
outdated and expensive T1 technology to a more flexible PRI. The addition of
the PRI enabled Universal Telecommunications to get rid of excess lines and trunks, which
saved the resort even more money.
The PRI gave the resort much more flexibility in call handling and a simple
disaster recovery plan for diverting voice calls in an emergency. Overflow
calls are forwarded to a predetermined number if the PRI fails or reaches full
capacity. And the resort can change the number for overflow calls anytime.
Telecom lifecycle management services from Universal Telecommunications have
paid off big for our client. In addition to huge costs savings and
better call handling, the resort is better positioned to serve its customers,
giving it a clear competitive advantage.

Universal Telecommunications Joins
Verizon Solutions Partner Program
Universal
Telecommunications
is proud to
announce that it has
been accepted into Verizon’s highly selective Partner program.
So far, Verizon has extended invitations to less than 100 companies nationwide to
join this program since it was reorganized after the merger with MCI.
Universal Telecommunications, which had previously been a partner with MCI, is
now one of only two partners headquartered in Florida selected to be in Verizon’s program.
We’re not limited to working with you on just your Florida
locations -- we can take care of your telecom services anywhere
Verizon offers services -- which is essentially nationwide. We’ll help you choose the best network services for
your organization and coordinate everything with Verizon -- at no extra
cost to you.
Whenever you need help, call us and we can provide more details on Verizon’s
products, features, pricing and latest promotions. To get started call (888) 300-6600

Carving Out a Niche in a Consolidated Industry
On the heels of the Sprint-Nextel merger, there was the Verizon and MCI merger, followed by the SBC and
AT&T merger, and now an AT&T – BellSouth merger.
CLECs have joined the merger party such as Paetec's recent acquisition of USLEC and
Level3’s acquisition of Broadwing, with more in the works.
All this industry consolidation is justified by the players in terms of
bringing new efficiencies and economies of scale to users. It sounds great and
time will tell.
Universal Telecommunications has chosen to align itself with the larger Tier
One carriers because of their financial strength, commitment to customer
support, and favorable long term prospects. As the customer’s point of contact with these larger carriers, we
manage the details so you can get back to running your business.
Is all this merger activity good? We think so because the companies left
standing will be strong and in the best position to offer the advanced communications solutions
that help businesses grow.
Let’s talk about what telecom consolidation means for your business. Call us

Universal Telecommunications First to Trial
New BellSouth VoIP Service
BellSouth
has been offering its largest enterprise customers VoIP services when they
request it, but has not yet offered a packaged solution for mid-size
customers. That could change in 2007…
Universal Telecommunications is trialing BellSouth IP Solutions -- BIPS. The
hosted VoIP service uses IP Phones from Polycom and ensures quality of service
(QoS) through equipment provided by Edgewater.
By participating in the trial, Universal Telecommunications is keeping up with
new developments in this technology, which enable us to make informed
recommendations to you. So stay tuned…
Meanwhile, to find out more about VoIP, call us at (888) 300-6600 or

Dedicated T1...
Still an Excellent Choice for High-Volume LD
If your organization has a
high volume of long distance calls or operates a call center, there’s nothing
like a Dedicated T1…
This service provides the quality and reliability you need, while enabling you
to take full advantage of the lowest call rates -- less than 2 cents per minute on
interstate calls.
Unlike newer VoIP services, which sometimes require a new phone system, a
Dedicated T1 can leverage your existing equipment. This means there’s no big
upfront cost to going with T1.
If you don’t have enough calls to use the entire T1, you can use the extra
bandwidth for data traffic and Internet access. With T1 you can
determine how much bandwidth is allocated for voice, data and Internet.
Consider the savings on
trunk costs alone: a $200 T1 loop can provide 24 call paths at $8.33 per
call path month vs. traditional local T1 channels that could cost $24 and up
per month. The value associated with Dedicated T1s for LD is not just lower
usage cost, but in the talk paths you get with the circuit!
And with the monthly price of Dedicated T1 going down, there’s no better time
to order. To get more information about Dedicated T1, call (888) 300-6600
or info@universal-tel.com.
