Internet Access / Data Center

For businesses that require continuous, always on access to the Internet, Universal Telecommunications has partnered with leading Internet Service Providers to offer a full range of bandwidth options. From DSL, T1 and NXT1, Ethernet and beyond, we can help you determine your bandwidth needs and provide you with an affordable package that meets your goals for network availability, reliability and security.

Our carriers offer the strongest network Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in the industry. We choose to work with them based on the level of support they have proven to provide our customers before the sale, during the installation and after billing begins.

Pricing varies from carrier to carrier based on several factors which include:

  • Geography - Distance from your location to the carrier Point-of-Presence (POP). A longer local loop can add to the cost of the Internet service. In Metropolitan areas of the country, choices are greater and prices may be lower as compared to more rural areas of the country.
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) - Carriers with a Superior SLA are in a position to charge more for their services as they have a proven track record of reliability and service. The SLA covers network availability, latency and mean-time-to-repair.
  • Promotions - Carriers change promotions regularly to meet local and regional competition and to generate new business in a particular market.

The Internet Access Solutions we offer include:

Dedicated T1 and NXT1 – Access to the Internet in intervals of 1.5 Mb with Synchronous Transmission (same speed up and down). A cost effective way to increase your bandwidth is to have the carrier bond several T1 circuits together (NXT1) for speeds of 3 Mb, 4.5 Mb, 6 Mb – up to 10.5 Mb using copper T1 access lines from the local phone company.divider2 Ethernet on Fiber Optic Local Access – Local fiber access has become more readily available and affordable in recent years. The ability to transmit data from the desktop to the Internet as native Ethernet has tremendous appeal to IT Network Administrators. While the process to deliver fiber to your business can be lengthy, the long term benefits of being On Net with your carrier are worth the wait. Having a fiber optic (glass!) loop prevents lightning from affecting your circuit which is an aid to Disaster Prevention and Recovery.

Bandwidth is available starting at 10 Mb and is relatively easy to increase to very high speeds. divider2 Dedicated DS3 / OC-X – WWith the growing popularity of Ethernet, DS3 and OC-X circuits are not as popular as they once were. The cost of transmission equipment for these circuits is the main reason. However, these multi-meg Internet access solutions are available and are also delivered via optical fiber connections. divider2 WiMax – Wireless Broadband is available in select markets using WiMax technology to eliminate both copper and fiber as the local access loop. This is an attractive solution for companies with a multi-megabit bandwidth requirement that needs to be up and running quickly (no fiber construction required). WiMax is also a great access method for true loop redundancy. If your T1(s) or fiber gets cut, WiMax is not affected. divider2 DSL - Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) uses the existing telephone network to deliver always-on Internet access at download speeds of up to 15 Mbps. Business Class DSL includes Static IP addresses and router. Sourcing DSL service around the country can be tricky so let us find the carriers who match up with your service locations. divider2 Domain Name Registration, Web Hosting, Website Design, Search Engine Optimization & Business Email – Your presence on the Internet begins with your Domain Name and grows to include your web site design and online marketing campaign.
